A bento link in bio arranges content in a grid of tiles with different sizes. One tile might show a project image, another a video, and a smaller one your contact link. The name refers to the compartments of a bento lunch box.

The format gives you control over visual emphasis. A large project tile can draw attention while supporting links take less space. It also asks more of you: if every tile competes for attention, a simple list may be easier to use.

The layout and the product are different things

Bento.me was a particular service. A bento grid is a design pattern that other tools can implement too. You do not need the original service to make a page in that style.

Linktree announced its acquisition of Bento in 2023. As checked on September 11, 2026, the Bento.me address redirects to Linktree rather than opening the old builder. If you are choosing a tool now, treat Bento.me as a former product, not an available editor.

That does not mean every old page is recoverable, or that every trace has disappeared. Saved screenshots, original images, notes, or an accessible web archive may help you rebuild. An archive is a possible reference, not a guaranteed export or complete copy.

What makes a useful bento page

Look for tiles you can resize, sensible spacing, readable text, and a mobile layout you can control. A grid that looks balanced on a desktop may need a different order on a phone.

Choose the content before the layout. For a designer, that might mean one project image, two case studies, and a contact link. For a musician, it might be a release, tickets, and merch. You do not need a widget in every tile.

Rich cards and supported social widgets can add context. A recent-video card or a project preview can explain why someone should click. Check what updates automatically and how often: the word "live" does not necessarily mean real-time, and an embedded album does not automatically become your next release.

A custom domain is useful if you want to retain control of the address. It can make a future provider change easier, but you still need to renew the domain, configure DNS, and verify the new page. It cannot preserve an old provider-owned address such as bento.me/yourname.

Rebuilding an old Bento page

Start from an inventory: your important destinations, original assets, profile text, and any saved layout references. Recreate the main action first, then add supporting tiles. Do not spend hours reproducing decorative details before the links work.

Recovery depends on what source material remains available. A manual rebuild from your own assets is the dependable path when no usable archive exists.

Check the public result on a phone and while signed out. Then update your social profiles, signatures, and other editable links. An old Bento URL is outside your control; moving to a new page does not redirect it to your new address.
